Montavilla Basement
I was tasked with spatial planning, furniture and lighting consultation, and creating vignettes to make a cozy and functional space out of a wayward basement room in Portland’s Montavilla neighborhood. I arranged the larger room into two smaller zones to accommodate an intimate space for watching movies and the occasional overnight guest, and a space for working, dining, and playing games. The design sought to create a warm and inviting atmosphere through warm neutral tones and textures with design references to the home’s modern roots.
